What exactly does Volto do?
Think of us as the collection layer that runs alongside your photographer. After your wedding, we give you a private link to share with guests. They tap it, upload their photos in two taps — no app, no account required — and within 48 hours you have a single gallery containing every photo every guest took, curated and ready to download at full resolution. The Find Yourself and Forever packages add face recognition: each guest takes one selfie and instantly sees every photo they appear in across the entire collection.
Do guests need to download an app or create an account?
No. That would kill participation. Guests tap a link (from your text or email) and upload directly from their phone's camera roll. Two taps. No signup, no password, no download. That friction-free experience is the reason you actually get 30–100 photos from guests instead of zero.
How does the "Find Yourself" face recognition work?
After the wedding, guests receive a second link: "Find yourself in the photos." They upload one selfie from their phone. Our system scans the full photo collection and returns every image they appear in, even photos taken by other guests from across the room. It typically surfaces 15–50 photos per person at a 150-guest wedding.
What if guests don't upload their photos?
Participation is optional, and reality is that not every guest will upload. Even getting 20–40% of guests to contribute typically yields 50–200 photos: candid moments the professional photographer never saw. We send you a reminder 24–48 hours after your event with suggested wording to forward to guests — one nudge, no spam.
How is this different from just making a shared Google Photos album?
Four key differences: (1) Zero friction: guests don't need a Google account or app. (2) Face search: guests can instantly find every photo of themselves across hundreds of uploads. (3) Curation: we filter duplicates and blurry shots before you see them. (4) Professional presentation: your couple gets a branded, organized gallery, not a raw dump, and a clean full-resolution download in one ZIP.
When do we receive the photos?
Your gallery is available within 48 hours of the event. We apply basic quality filtering first, then deliver the full-resolution downloadable ZIP. If you booked the Forever package, physical keepsakes ship within 2 weeks.
Does this replace our wedding photographer?
Not even close. Your photographer is one expert in one location capturing one perspective — and they're irreplaceable at what they do. Volto captures what your photographer physically cannot: the candid shot from Table 14, the spontaneous moment at the bar, the expression on a face your photographer wasn't watching when it happened. They're completely different things. Most couples who use us say afterwards they wish they'd had both from the very beginning.
How do we book, and when do we need to pay?
Fill out our short form with your event date and package preference. We'll confirm availability and send a simple contract with a 30% deposit to hold your date. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your event. We don't take your money until we confirm we can serve you.
How does face recognition work, and what happens to my guests' face data?
When a guest uploads a selfie to "Find Yourself," our system temporarily compares it against the wedding photo collection, then immediately discards the selfie. No facial data is retained after the search completes. Photos are stored only for the couple's gallery access period (1 year). The gallery is private and accessible only to people with your unique link. We never share, sell, or use guest images for any other purpose.
How do guests upload their wedding photos?
The day after your wedding, you share a single link with your guests — one text, one email, or both. Guests tap the link in any browser (iPhone, Android, anything works — no app required), choose photos from their camera roll, and tap Upload. The whole process takes about 30 seconds. We've had guests in their 70s and 80s complete it without any assistance or instructions.
Is there a wedding guest photo app?
Volto works entirely in your phone's browser, no app to download, ever. This is intentional. Apps create friction (download, install, create account) that kills guest participation. Because we're browser-based, guests at your wedding, including older relatives who rarely install apps, can upload in two taps from any smartphone or tablet.
How much does wedding guest photo collection cost?
Volto offers three packages: Memories ($149) covers guest upload + organized gallery + full download. Find Yourself ($249) adds face recognition so every guest can find their own photos instantly. Forever ($499) adds 100 handpicked photo magnets shipped to your door as a surprise. All are one-time fees with no subscription or per-photo charges.
Can guests upload videos?
Currently Volto supports photo uploads only. If guests want to share video clips, they can send them directly to you via iMessage, WhatsApp, or Google Photos after the event. We focus on photos to keep the upload experience fast and friction-free for all guests.
Can we add our professional photographer's images to the gallery?
The Volto gallery collects guest-uploaded photos. Your photographer's images are delivered separately (usually via their own gallery service). After downloading your guest photo ZIP, you can easily merge both folders on your own computer to create one complete archive of your entire wedding.
Do you serve events outside of Greater Boston?
Our core service area is Greater Boston, MetroWest, North Shore, and South Shore. For the Memories and Find Yourself packages (which are fully digital), we can serve couples anywhere in the US. For the Forever package with physical delivery, we ship anywhere in the continental US. Reach out and we'll confirm.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancellations more than 60 days before your event receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations 30–60 days out receive a 50% refund. Within 30 days, the deposit is non-refundable, but we'll reschedule to a new date at no extra charge if you need to postpone.
